Welcome to another edition of #FoodEntrepreneur Friday, where I serve up an order of international food with a side of guidance for entrepreneurs.

I faced a paradox at my table—gazpacho soup. I learned from my Spanish Nomaders local hosts (or ‘Local Heroes‘), that Portuguese and Spaniards alike serve this soup chilled. Soup? Cold? Blasphemy. I only take my broths boiling at snowman-melting temperatures, thank you very much. However, my Portuguese hosts at the Rovisco Garcia Winery were so welcoming to this surprised diner. Heck, I had left the bowl untouched for a good 10 minutes, so I thought I’d take a sip just for appreciation’s sake. But then it hit me. When spoon came to tastebuds, I realized the genius behind this dish. Chilled gazpacho soup is good no matter when you drink it. Likewise, now—just like any other time—is the best time to set and reach for your goals.

I forgot to mention a key ingredient to reaching your goals during my previous #FoodEntrepreneur Friday post: commitment. It’s not enough to say you’re going to achieve a goal. In fact, it’s not enough to try nutritious foods—like gazpacho soup—once or twice. You’ve gotta commit.

Good thing, just like gazpacho soup, now is the best time to try it. It doesn’t matter if we’re already past new years day. So, if you haven’t done so already, write to yourself a letter in 2014 that will be sent to your future self in 2015, put your goals down in writing or just simply set your business goals and goals for yourself right now.

May I suggest a healthy routine? There’s a reason why I believe eating well and exercising will help you grow as an entrepreneur. You are the routines you make for yourself. Your business reflects who you are.

If you’re able to put your goals into practice then you’re on your way to making a sustainable business. You’ll be the gazpacho of businesses—always good and always good for you (and others).

1 Here, again, is an online document you can use to fill out your goals for 2014 that will be sent back to you in the form of a letter to yourself in 2015. I promise it will delight.
